DAY 2: One of several photos from our hotel window of the Matterhorn
at dawn as the sun slides down the slopes.

Downtown Zermatt

Craig is ready to go!

This is roughly the route: Zermatt, Vist, Brig, Andermatt, Discentic, Chur, Thusis, St. Moritz.
The 7.5 hour trip over the 169 miles of narrow-gauge track has 291 bridges and 91 tunnels,
with a peak elevation of 6,670 feet at the Oberalp Pass near Andermatt. The train goes through the
9.5-mile Furka Tunnel, which takes a shortcut beneath the Alps between Andermatt and Brig.

Oh oh, the reflections are going to be bad for photos!!

These are for my memories, so we'll just ignore the reflection problem and snap away.

Occasionally I'll photograph the notice of the next town so I know where we were for the photos.

The whole valley was dotted with houses and buildings.

The updrafts are perfect conditions for skydiving, ballooning, and gliding.

Lunch was hearty and excellent.

I expected to see more agricultural activity and animals.

The rest are all amazing views from our hotel window in St. Moritz!
