Galapagos Day 4 (12/6): Isabela
Urbina Bay morning and Tagus Cove afternoon.

In 1954 over half a square mile of marine reef was uplifted instantaneously by as much as 15ft.
We have two hike options to look at wildlife, including land iguana nesting colony and occasional tortoises.

Urbina Bay, Isabela

Two hawks were patient while I snapped photos.

Jason, excellent naturalist we enjoyed learning from!

The Carpenter bees see only yellow, so all of the flowering plants have yellow.

Look closely and you'll see the black bee.

Reaching for that little fruit, which is poison to humans. Yum!

I have a very fancy forehead!

Supposed to see the shoreline in his glasses, but...??

Isabela, Targus Cove, Photos from a Kayak

We paddled past a whole cliff of nesting birds

Craig in back of Kayak, I was in the front.
I put the camera over my head and he tried to convince me to aim higher...

Oh, much better, other than the water spots!

Isabela - a Zodiak ride along the clifts

Love the Blue-footed Boobie who is looking right at the camera! Is he shocked? :)

The elusive Galapagos Penguin.

Red sunset lights up the whole hill.

Sea Lion outlined in the brilliant sunset. What a sight!

End of Day 4. Please go on to Day 5!
