Arrived at Old Faithful just in time for an eruption.
I think this is one of the newer and less frequent geysers.
Castle Geyser has built up quite a cone.

We went from Prismatic Springs to Mannoth Hot Springs Terraces.

Canary Springs, from above, sits on the edge of the mountain and flows down the mountain side.
Canary Springs creates this amazing sight as the hot spring liquid drips down the mountain.
We took the long board walk down the mountain side, looking at the amazing "steps" along the way.

I leaned over the boardwalk for this one.

Elk family appears to be in snow, but this is a material from the springs.
Beautiful pose by the elk! I hope that bed of stuff is safe for them!
Several hours later and we are back in a valley, this time Lamar Valley.
Lots of bison grazing in the early evening light.
Drove by some very tall cliffs - sides too hight to be close to us. Those white pixels are a mountain goat. Yes, really!
Early next morning in Lamar Valley, wolves!
Wolves have something to eat here, as a bison passes by. My 300mm (5/4s lens equivalent to 600mm) barely catches it all.

Then we find a spot where a lone wolf has found a carcass, and settle in to photo him/her for awhile.
Photos are all a bit grainy and noisy at this distance, but clearly a wolf.

Eats, but also keeps looking around for rivals for the meat.
Love this sight so didn't do well on eliminating them from the photos.
Barks or snarles at something.
And here comes a crow or a raven. In this photo, the collar on this wolf shows clearly.

The raven persists and sticks around for awhile. The wolf decides to accept it and eat.

Now we are three! See the Magpie at the left of the carcass?
The wolf seems to have better luck getting rid of the magpie, but the raven isn't so afraid.
Both leave soon after this photo, as do we.
The clearing between those yellow trees is where this saga happened, so we were not very close.
Moving on to larger beasts, a large herd of bison.
Again, where does a bison cross the road... you know by now.
Handsome fellow, but he didn't have the attendion of the female.
This guy was much more persistent.
A bald eagle is flying towards a huge golden tree.
Sadly, too far away for great photos, but we saw him!

We stopped for a cheese and crackers picnic on the way back, and saw this guy.

Next morning we start our return to Jackson, and catch these trees in the fog.

We had the most amazing sky the whole drive to Jackson.

Our guide heard that a moose had been located. Here she is, trying to sleep.

She yawns and we are all excited that she moved. Good grief!
By now, the group watching from the other side of the creek has grown considerably.

A swan and her two cygnets, one gray and rare, one white. I think Mom and gray cygnet are checking under the water.
Raptor Center: This center nurses raptors back to health. We saw this Kestral first.
The Kestral can fly, beautiful!
Next up, the Peregrin Falcon.

and is rewarded for flying from perch to perch with some meat.
I think he wants more food! Please?
A Great Gray Owl, in conversation with his handler "Do I really have to entertain these people?"
He has only one wing, so he'll never be able to be released.
I'm sure he knows something is wrong.
