Drive back to Lhasa

We drove along a wide fertile river valley with large mountains on either side.

Stopped for a break.

Building a train along the same valley. A lot of it is on towers and a lot is right through the mountain side.

Impressionist painting!

We stopped for a picnic lunch. This is the van we've spent the last 5 days in.

Speed control apparently works by marking a paper when you enter an area, and then checking your speed when you exit by the elapsed time. Here, our guide and driver do the paperwork. Once we had to wait to be sure we'd taken enough time.

Back in Lhasa

Last morning in Tibet, we go for a walk in the market around Jokhang. This morning, it is filled with food vendors and household goods rather than tourist items.
